JIANIANHUA CENTER — OPENING
SOM was hired to design this mixed use development in the heart of Chongqing, China. The eight-story retail component is enclosed with a dynamic triad billboard behind a glass skin. The client commissioned the first super-graphic to celebrate Chinese New Year and the opening of the park. SOM hired GraphicUser to develop a series of concepts including the chosen scheme, “The Urban Flower Box.” This concept is visualized through a seemingly infinite combination of abstract pattern and color sequences through the programmed rotation of the 148 individual panels.
